This is the winning song for NPR's 2016 Tiny Desk Concert. It's an original song by Gaelynn Lea entitled "Someday We'll Linger in the Sun". It was recorded by Jake Larson at Sacred Heart Music Center. The artwork for this track is by silk painter Lee Zimmerman.

Gaelynn Lea is a musician, fiddle teacher, and public speaker from Duluth, MN. The layers of sound in this song were created by live looping, using only a JamMan Express Looper Pedal, an Orange Microamp and Gaelynn's violin.

Gaelynn Lea has been playing violin for over twenty years and performing in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin since 2006. She has a congenital disability called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bones Disease) and because of her shortened limbs she plays her violin in an upright position like a tiny cello. Gaelynn is passionate about disability advocacy and authentic living.

Gaelynn Lea recently released her debut solo album, "All the Roads that Lead Us Home". It is a self-produced showcase of her favorite fiddle tunes that she recorded at Sacred Heart Music Studio in Duluth.

Our love's a complex vintage wine
All rotted leaves and lemon rind
I'd spit you out but now you're mine

We bit the fruit, it seemed a lie
I'll never know which way was right
Now side by side we face the night

And I love you
And I love you

We walked the pier and back again
It was the most scared I've ever been
You held my hand until the end

And I love you
And I love you

Don't tell me we've got time
The subtle thief of life
It slips away when we pay no mind

We pulled the weeds out til the dawn
Nearly too tired to carry on
Someday we'll linger in the sun

And I love you
And I love you
